About BK8 and the desk that runs Cambodia

Who you are actually dealing with

BK8 is operated by Mettlemind Tech Ltd., company registration number 15779, registered at Hamchako, Mutsamudu, on the Autonomous Island of Anjouan in the Union of the Comoros. The gaming licence is issued by the government of that island under number ALSI-202504032-FI2. Those two strings are the whole of the regulatory identity behind your account, and both are short enough to write down and check before you deposit rather than after. A third-party bookmaker database dates the operation's inception and licensing to 2014. We put this at the top of the page instead of in a footer because a company that handles money and says nothing about itself deserves suspicion.

Two footnotes, because you will run into both elsewhere. Older BK8 properties carried a Curacao licence — described as the Master License of Gaming Services Provider, N.V. #365/JAZ — and the live platform still ships a /curacao.php route left over from that period. It is an artefact of old paperwork, not a second licence running in parallel. Separately, the corporate geography reads Maltese in places: Athletic Club called BK8 a Malta-based company when it announced their 2021 partnership, and the April 2025 MotoGP release carries a St Julian's, Malta dateline. That release does not use the word headquartered, and none of it changes the entity named on your account, which is the Anjouan company above.

What BK8 international means in practice

Cambodia is one arm of a group that publishes its own market map. BK8's hreflang configuration names a separate canonical domain per country — www.bk8mas.com for Malaysia, www.bk8sg.com for Singapore, www.bk8vnofficial.com for Vietnam and www.bk8khr.com for Cambodia — and BK8's own page title names Cambodia as one of eight target markets in Asia, alongside Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, India and Korea. At corporate level, bk8.com issues a permanent redirect to bk8.co, the current primary domain. Short market domains then hand off to rotating platform mirrors on locale paths such as /en-my/home, which is why the address bar sometimes shows a host you did not type.

• Ten currency codes run on the platform, two of them — KHUSD and KHEUR — labelled with the country name Cambodia.
• Sumsub identity verification is enabled on nine of those ten currencies, both Cambodian codes included.

One line in BK8's own marketing metadata is worth reading carefully. It states that the operator is authorised and licensed to operate in multiple countries, and it lists Cambodia by name. Read that as a statement about which markets BK8 serves, not as a claim of a Cambodian licence — no such licence exists to hold, for reasons set out below. Served and licensed are different words, and we use them differently.

The Cambodian build is not a translated Malaysian page

In BK8's platform configuration the KH region maps to the Khmer locale KM_KH with KHUSD as its default currency, so a Cambodian visitor lands in Khmer unless they change it, and the bk8khr.com root redirects to /km-kh/home rather than to an English path. Five languages are offered here — English, ភាសាខ្មែរ, Simplified Chinese, Indonesian and Vietnamese, with Khmer as the regional default — and the Khmer homepage renders fully in Khmer script rather than as an English page with a flag switcher bolted on. Registration accepts the 855 country code, and deposits are configured against three bank codes for the Cambodian currency: MBB for Maybank, ABA for ABA Bank and ACLB for ACLEDA Bank. The currency question comes up constantly, so here it is plainly: there are no riel accounts. The string KHR appears zero times in BK8's platform configuration, the registration config restricts the Cambodia region to a single currency, and the two Cambodian codes resolve to US dollars and euros. Balances run in USD. That is less strange than it sounds in a country where 83.4 per cent of broad money was dollar-denominated at the end of 2025 and where hotel rooms and airline tickets are quoted in dollars as a matter of course. It matters at the cashier, though: the Bakong rail will not convert between currencies mid-transfer, so send dollars from a dollar account and the problem never arises.

What sits under a single BK8 account

One login covers the lot. For the Cambodian currency the platform exposes seven product categories on its leaderboards — Slots, Bingo, Casino, ESportsbook, Sports, Fishing and Lottery — while the public navigation runs Sports, Football Betting, E-Sports, Casino, Slots, Fishing, Lottery, Fast Games and the BK8 App. Poker is enabled as a content type internally, alongside racing and bingo, but does not appear in the public navigation at all — plumbing rather than a product to go looking for. The lottery vertical is a real 4D product with published draw results, not a label on a menu. Fishing has its own landing pages rather than sharing a lobby with slots. None of that is unusual for a regional operator; the reason to list it is that a company page ought to say what the company sells, and the lobby itself is the only place the current shelf is visible.

Who checks the games, and who checks you

Fairness is not something an operator can assert about itself and expect to be believed, which is why the names in this paragraph are not ours. Verification runs in the other direction too. Sumsub identity checks are enabled on both Cambodian currency codes. At sign-up a Cambodian account needs a verified mobile number and a verified email address; birthdate and bank verification are not switched on for KHUSD, though they are for some other currencies. Sign-up is therefore short. Keep a usable national ID or passport to hand rather than hunting for one later, and clear any document request while nothing is pending.

The logo you have probably seen on a shirt

BK8 buys sport, which is how most Cambodian players first met the name. The deals BK8 currently lists on its own site: title sponsor of BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP for 2025, with Wikipedia recording the team's 2026 name in the same form; official sponsor of the TotalEnergies BWF Sudirman Cup Finals 2025, the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2025 and the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2025; and official partner of Burnley F.C. for 2022-2026. BWF announced the badminton deal on 21 April 2025, running through to the 2026 World Championships.

Earlier football, again from BK8's own list: Aston Villa 2023-2024, Crystal Palace 2022-2023, Huddersfield Town 2021-2023, and five Spanish clubs in 2021-2022 — Valencia, Athletic Club, Villarreal, Elche and RCD Mallorca — held under the label Official Asian Betting Partner rather than shirt sponsor. Two corrections we would rather make ourselves. BK8's 2018/19 La Liga presence was virtual advertising-board replacement in Real Madrid and Barcelona away matches, delivered through an AR firm for Asian broadcast feeds; it was not a sponsorship of either club, whatever a legacy popup still implies. And a 2021 shirt deal with Norwich City was signed on 7 June and cancelled by mutual consent on 10 June, three days later. What we publish here, and what we leave out

This site is written by the people who run BK8 in Cambodia, and it runs on one rule: every specific number has to trace to something a reader can check. Where a value only the operator can confirm is genuinely missing, we mark it rather than guess at it. That rule costs us material. Cambodian law, stated plainly

Better you hear this from us than from a comment thread. Gambling by Cambodian nationals has been unlawful since the 1996 Law on the Suppression of Gambling. Online gambling was banned with effect from 2020, and the Law on the Management of Commercial Gambling, promulgated that same year, created the Commercial Gambling Management Commission of Cambodia as regulator. Under that law an online licence can exist only as an integral part of a land-based casino licence — there is no standalone online-only permit for anyone to apply for, which is why no offshore operator holds a Cambodian one, ourselves included. Everything else wearing the logo is somebody's marketing, and some of it is careless: bk8khpro.com repeats the same Mettlemind Tech Ltd. and licence details word for word, but its ownership is unverified, so read it as boilerplate copied rather than confirmation of anything. Check the domain before you type a password into it.
