Is BK8 legit? Here is the paperwork
Every checkable fact about who runs BK8, under what licence, tested by which laboratories, and what Cambodian law actually says — put in one place by the team that runs the Cambodian side of it, so you can go and verify the lot yourself.
We are not going to review ourselves
This page is written by the people who run BK8 in Cambodia. It is our case, with the documents attached. Google's own quality raters mark a page down to the lowest grade when it stages an independent verdict while existing to make money for whoever published it, so we are not going to stage one. What we can do instead is put every checkable string in a single place: the company behind the licence, the licence number itself, the laboratories that test the games, what we ask of you at registration, and where Cambodian law genuinely sits. Almost all of it can be confirmed without our help. Figures we could not trace to our own platform have been left out, including several flattering ones that circulate on BK8-branded sites we do not run.
The company, the licence, and the numbers behind them
BK8 is operated by Mettlemind Tech Ltd., registration number 15779, registered at Hamchako, Mutsamudu, on the Autonomous Island of Anjouan in the Union of the Comoros. The gaming licence is issued by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan under number ALSI-202504032-FI2. Those two strings are the whole of our regulatory identity — a company you can look up and a licence number you can quote back at us. A third-party bookmaker review dates our inception and licensing to 2014, so this is a long-running operation rather than a domain that appeared last season.
Two footnotes, because you will find both elsewhere. Older BK8 properties carried a Curacao licence — the Master License of Gaming Services Provider, N.V. #365/JAZ — and the live platform still ships a /curacao.php route left over from that era. It is an artefact, not a second licence. And our corporate geography reads Maltese in places: Athletic Club described BK8 as a Malta-based company when it announced our partnership in August 2021, and the MotoGP announcement of 17 April 2025 carries a St. Julian's, Malta dateline. The registered operator of your account is still the Anjouan company named above. Two names, one licence, no mystery.

Where Cambodian law actually stands
The straight answer to "is this licensed in Cambodia" is that nothing offshore is, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. Gambling by Cambodian nationals has been unlawful since the 1996 Law on the Suppression of Gambling. Online gambling was banned with effect from 2020, and the Law on the Management of Commercial Gambling, promulgated that same year, created the Commercial Gambling Management Commission of Cambodia as regulator. Under that law an online licence can exist only as an integral part of a land-based casino licence — there is no standalone online-only permit for anybody to apply for. That single provision settles the question for the whole category: not for us, not for the sportsbook advertising beside us, not for the site with a Cambodian flag in its header.
Any BK8-branded page telling you it is licensed in Cambodia, regulated by the CGMC, or approved by the National Bank of Cambodia is inventing it. Cambodian online licences do not exist separately from land-based casino licences, and no offshore operator holds one. Ours is Anjouan's, numbered ALSI-202504032-FI2, held by company 15779 — printed here rather than implied, so you can check it before you deposit rather than after.
Who actually tests the games
Fairness is not something an operator can assert about itself and expect to be believed, which is why the names below are not ours. Our games are audited by BMM Test Labs, GLI and iTech Labs, whose certification badges sit in our footer alongside TST. The layer beneath matters just as much, because that is where the mathematics is actually written. Pragmatic Play (Gibraltar) Limited holds Great Britain Gambling Commission account number 56015 and Gibraltar Licensing Authority RGL No. 107, and its games are RNG tested by Gaming Laboratories International, Quinel and Gaming Associates. PG SOFT states its products are validated and certified by BMM and Gaming Associates, and publishes a game information sheet for every title it ships.
The gap in that picture is worth naming out loud. JILI publishes no RTP whatsoever on its official site — we went through the game pages and the player JavaScript and found not one percentage — so the 97% you see attached to JILI titles across the internet is affiliate-sourced, not provider-published. Gates of Olympus is also supplied in more than one operator-selectable RTP build: Pragmatic Play publishes 96.50% and slot databases record lower versions, so an unqualified figure is not always the one a given lobby runs. What we ask of you, and why a KYC request is a good sign
A Cambodian account opens light. We verify a mobile number under the 855 country code and an email address, and nothing heavier at that stage — no birthdate check and no bank verification, both of which we do run on other currencies. Identity verification itself runs through Sumsub and is enabled on nine of our ten currency codes, including both Cambodian ones. A document request is ordinary rather than a warning sign, and it usually surfaces where the money does: at a first withdrawal, or an unusually large one. An operator that never asks who you are is not being generous with you. It is skipping the checks that stop somebody else emptying your balance.
- Phone and email are verified at registration, and the 855 country code is supported in the flow, so a local number is the normal case rather than a workaround.
- Sumsub identity checking is enabled on both Cambodian currency codes. Clear it on a quiet afternoon rather than with a payout already queued behind it.
- Balances run in US dollars. KHR appears zero times in our platform's currency table and the Cambodia region is restricted to a single currency, so there is no riel account to convert out of.
- Our footer carries iovation and ThreatMetrix for fraud screening and GamCare and BeGambleAware on the responsible-gambling side — the reason a payout occasionally pauses for a person to look at it.
- Five languages serve Cambodian players — Khmer, English, Simplified Chinese, Indonesian and Vietnamese — with Khmer as the regional default rather than an afterthought.

Money in and money out, on rails you already use
Trust in this market is settled at the cashier, and Cambodia has good infrastructure for settling it. Three bank codes are configured for Cambodian deposits — ABA, ACLEDA and Maybank — and beneath all of them sits Bakong, the payment system operated by the National Bank of Cambodia, now with 63 official members and seven more integrating. ABA PAY alone is accepted at more than 200,000 merchants nationwide, so the app doing the paying is one you already carry. KHQR, the national QR standard riding on the Bakong rail, replaced roughly fifty mutually incompatible bank QR codes when it launched in July 2022. One constraint is worth carrying in your head: Bakong will not cross currencies, so the transfer currency and the account currency must match, and a payout aimed at a riel account does not arrive slowly — it does not arrive. How to tell a real BK8 page from a clone
"BK8 scam" is a search people run before they deposit. Check what the page in front of you actually is before you judge the operator. A cloud of lookalike domains sits around this brand — pages built to catch the brand name, wearing our logo, quoting numbers that appear nowhere in our own platform. We went through them. One publishes structured data declaring BK8 as both the author and the subject of a five-star review drawn from six ratings. Another runs a Cambodia-targeted page whose markup still reads "BK8 Online Casino Malaysia", because nobody swapped the template. A third routes all 221 outbound links on its homepage through a single cloaking domain, only nine of which are actual registration links, and hosts none of its own trust pages: About, Contact, Terms and Responsible Gaming all bounce off-site. The Huione line deserves its own sentence, because it is the only item on that list that can cost you real money before you have placed a bet. FinCEN found the Cambodia-based Huione Group to be a foreign financial institution of primary money laundering concern, assessing that it laundered at least four billion dollars in illicit proceeds between August 2021 and January 2025. If a BK8-branded page invites you to fund an account through Huione Pay, close it. Our Cambodian rails are the banks and wallets above, the ones you already use to pay for lunch.
The record, including the parts that do not flatter us
A brand this size leaves a public trail, and the test is whether an operator shows you all of it. Ours includes nominations at the EGR Operator Awards 2024 and the EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards 2024, among them Slots Operator, Casino Operator and Sports Betting Operator. - BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP — title sponsor for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, with Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer riding; the team competes in 2026 under the name BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP.
- Badminton — the BWF announced on 21 April 2025 that BK8 is official betting sponsor partner for its Major Championships through 2026, covering the Sudirman Cup Finals, the World Championships and the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cup Finals.
- Football — Aston Villa 2023-2024, Crystal Palace 2022-2023, Huddersfield Town 2021-2023, and five La Liga clubs in 2021-2022 as Official Asian Betting Partner: Valencia, Athletic Club, Villarreal, Elche and RCD Mallorca.
- The one that was cut short — the Aston Villa front-of-shirt deal was announced in June 2023 as a three-year agreement running to the end of 2025/26, and lasted a single season before Betano took the shirt from 2024/25.
- The one that failed — a Norwich City shirt sponsorship signed on 7 June 2021 and cancelled by mutual consent on 10 June 2021, three days later, after fan pressure over adult content on our social accounts.
- The one that gets overstated — our 2018/19 La Liga presence was virtual advertising-board replacement in Real Madrid and Barcelona away matches, delivered through an AR firm for Asian broadcast. A legacy popup on our platform still calls it an advertising partnership with both clubs; it was never a sponsorship of either.
That is the case, with the awkward entries left in.
