Sabong, online cockfighting and what we actually run
Sabong is Filipino for cockfighting, and it arrives in Cambodian search results attached to somebody else's video feed. Our lobby has nine tabs and none of them says Sabong. Here is what that really means, and which head-to-head markets give you the identical bet.
Why a Filipino word turns up in Cambodian search
Sabong is a Filipino word. It means cockfighting, and it reaches Cambodia the way most things reach Cambodia now — through a screen somebody else was holding. Khmer has its own name for the practice, ជល់មាន់, and this country has its own long relationship with it, but a search box is not a street. When someone here types sabong, online cockfighting or cockfight betting, they are usually chasing a video: an arena feed, a clip pushed into a timeline, a friend's phone across a table at a coffee shop. Facebook carried 48.94% of Cambodia's social referrals in August 2026 and YouTube another 36.15%, so the road into these searches runs through video, not through a brand anyone set out to find.
We would rather answer that honestly than build a page that pretends. What a cockfight bettor wants is not a species. It is a bet shape: two sides, no draw, a decision inside a few minutes, and a price that moves with the money in the room instead of with a table of last season's results. Where sabong sits in our Cambodian lobby today

Two fighters, one line: the bet shape you are after
Strip the sport away and a cockfight bet is a very plain structure: two sides, no draw, a result inside a few minutes, and a price that drifts because of where the money went rather than because of an injury report. That structure did not leave with the birds — it is the backbone of half our sportsbook, and it is why a sabong searcher usually finds something they like two clicks from the Sports tab.
The closest version we run is the Asian handicap. It removes the draw by giving one side a head start, cutting three outcomes to two, and because the line is set to make each side as close to a coin flip as the book can manage, prices sit near even money — typically 1.90 to 2.00 in decimal odds. Quarter lines add one wrinkle: a $1,000 bet at a handicap of 1.75 behaves like $500 at 1.5 and $500 at 2, so it can win half or lose half rather than settling cleanly. That line goes on domestic football too. The 2026-27 Cambodian Premier League is the 42nd season, it kicked off on 5 September 2026 with eleven clubs, and the format is a double round-robin before the top six split into a champion round and the other five into their own. Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng came in as three-time defending champions with five titles behind them and two consecutive AFC Challenge League finals on their record. Kun Khmer is the head-to-head market that is genuinely ours
If what you want is two fighters, a short clock and a decision you can watch happen, Cambodia already has that sport and it is on television most weekends. Kun Khmer — also called Pradal Serey, Khmer boxing, and officially Kbach Kun Pradal Khmer — is stand-up striking and clinch fighting where the objective is to knock the opponent out. A bout runs five three-minute rounds with a minute and a half to two minutes between them, inside a ring 6.1 metres square. Punches, kicks, elbows and knees are all legal. Strikes to the back and strikes to a downed opponent are not. The elbow is the signature: Cambodian fighters use more of them than the neighbouring styles do.
It is Khmer down to the ritual. The pre-fight kun kru, the thvayobangkoum krou, runs to seventeen postures, many of them referencing the Ramayana, and the sport is governed by the Cambodian Boxing Federation under president Khov Chhay. When Cambodia hosted the 2023 SEA Games, Kun Khmer contested 19 gold medals at Elephant Hall 1 inside Morodok Techo National Stadium and Cambodian fighters took 14 of them. TV5 Cambodia stages live tournaments on Friday and Sunday, CTN on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and Bayon Television on Saturday and Sunday. Ganzberg Golden Boy Kun Khmer is staged at the Bayon TV Arena in Steung Meanchey, near K-Mall on Veng Sreng Street, and broadcast on Town TV. Funding a two-sided bet from a Cambodian phone

Where the law draws its line, and where we draw ours
Anyone searching cockfight betting from Cambodia should have the legal position in front of them, not buried in a footer. The 1996 Law on Suppression of Gambling outlawed all unauthorised forms of gambling and gambling remains illegal for Cambodian nationals under it. Online gambling was banned effective 2020, the same year the Law on the Management of Commercial Gambling was promulgated with the Commercial Gambling Management Commission of Cambodia as regulator. Stand-alone online-only licences do not exist here at all — an online licence can only be granted as an integral part of a land-based casino licence — so no offshore operator holds a Cambodian one, ourselves included.
