Questions Cambodian players actually ask us
Currency, banks, verification, the offer and the paperwork behind the company — the five things our inbox fills up with, answered in the order people ask them. Where we have a verified number we give it. Where we do not, we say so rather than round one up.
Start here: the five things that trip people up
This page collects what Cambodian players actually write in and ask, in roughly the order they ask it. Almost all of it clusters around five things: which currency the account runs in, which bank moves money fastest, what has to be verified before a payout leaves, how the welcome offer is calculated, and who we answer to as a company. Everything below is written for an account opened from Cambodia — not a Malaysian page with the flag swapped out. If your question is not here, the deeper pages are linked as we go, and the cashier itself answers most of the rest faster than any article can.
Your balance is in dollars, and that answers half the questions
The first question is nearly always about riel, and the answer is short: there is no riel account. Cambodia sits on our platform under two internal currency codes, KHUSD and KHEUR, which resolve to US dollars and euros, and the string KHR appears nowhere in our platform configuration. Our registration config restricts the Cambodia region to a single currency, USD. That is less strange here than it would be in most countries. At the end of 2025, 83.4 percent of Cambodia's broad money was denominated in US dollars, and dollar quotations are standard for hotel rooms, airline tickets and anything else of size. You already think in dollars for those. The cashier works the same way. Riel keeps doing the sub-dollar work it does everywhere — the retail convention is 4,000 riel to the dollar, while ACLEDA's board rate on 10 September 2026 was 4,048 buy and 4,062 sell.
Bakong does not do cross-currency transfers. The transfer currency and the account currency have to match, and there is no in-app FX step hiding in the middle. Your balance with us is in dollars, so send dollars from a dollar account. Funding from a riel account is the reason we see behind most first deposits that do not land.
The match applies to your first deposit and the spins land on slots. Balances run in USD — no riel conversion to think about.
Money in: which rails work, and what they cost
Three bank codes are configured for Cambodian deposits — ABA, ACLEDA and Maybank — and around them sits payment plumbing most Cambodians already use every day. KHQR is Cambodia's single national QR standard, launched in July 2022 with all 37 Bakong participant banks supporting it from the first day; underneath it runs Bakong, the National Bank of Cambodia's platform, now at 63 official members with seven more integrating. In practice that means the app already on your phone works. ABA PAY debits straight from your ABA account or card with no pre-loading step and is accepted at more than 200,000 merchants nationwide; ACLEDA, Wing and TrueMoney all sit on the same rail. The screen-by-screen walk-through for the busiest one is on the ABA page, and if you would rather just look at the cashier, open it here.
| Rail | What it is good for | The limit or fee worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| ABA Bank | The default for most Phnom Penh accounts — ABA is Cambodia's largest commercial bank and its app has passed 10 million downloads | Up to 240,000,000 KHR / 60,000 USD per transaction and per day to other Bakong members |
| ACLEDA Bank | Branch coverage outside the capital | Transfers out of an ACLEDA Bakong account are free, capped at USD 2,500 per transaction and USD 10,000 a day |
| Wing | Cash in your hand without going near a branch | Free cash-out at 12,000+ Wing agents, no fee and no minimum |
| TrueMoney | Agent counters that serve any Bakong bank, not only their own wallet | 10,000 agents nationwide, cash in or out in KHR or USD by scanning your KHQR code |
| KHQR | One code that any participating bank or wallet can pay | Carries both KHR and USD — but the account-currency rule above still applies |
Money out: verification first, then the cash
Withdrawals are where people ask us for a number we will not give. We publish figures we can stand behind, and a universal payout time is not one of them — it depends on the rail and on whether your verification is already clear. What we can tell you is the order things happen in, which is the part you control. A Cambodian account needs a verified phone number and a verified email; birthdate and bank verification are switched on for some other markets but not for this one, and Sumsub handles KYC on both Cambodian currency codes. Do that paperwork on the day you register, while the account is still empty and nothing is queued behind it. The withdrawal page covers the rails and their ceilings in detail.
- Clear phone and email verification before you deposit, not after you win. It is the same ten minutes either way, and only one of those two moments is a pleasant time to be looking for your ID.
- Withdraw to an account in the same currency you hold. The cross-currency rule runs in both directions and does not make an exception for money going out.
- For notes in your hand, a Wing agent cash-out is free with no minimum, and a TrueMoney agent can pay out against a KHQR code from any of more than 60 Bakong member institutions.
- ATMs are the expensive route. Local operator fees run roughly 4 to 10 US dollars per withdrawal — ABA sits at the upper end, Vattanac at the low — the standard per-transaction limit at ABA, ACLEDA, Canadia and CPBank is 500 dollars, and machines here tend to dispense 50s and 100s.
The account itself: registering, verifying, logging in
Registration takes a mobile number under the 855 country code and an email address, and both of those get verified before the cashier will take money. The interface is genuinely localised rather than translated: we serve five Cambodia locales — Khmer, English, Simplified Chinese, Indonesian and Vietnamese — with Khmer as the regional default, and the Khmer homepage renders in Khmer script rather than English with a flag switcher bolted on top. If you want the site in ភាសាខ្មែរ, that is the version built first for this market. Sign-up problems almost always come down to the phone number, because the verification code is what unlocks everything else. The step-by-step is on the registration page.
- Wrong country code. The form expects 855; a number pasted with its leading zero will not match the code we send you.
- Email typos. Both channels have to clear on a Cambodian account and one does not stand in for the other.
- Language confusion at the cashier. Switching between Khmer and English changes the interface and nothing else — not the currency, not the balance, not the offer attached to it.
Both banks are configured on BK8 for Cambodian accounts, so money moves on rails you already use every day.
The welcome offer, the referral code and the rebate
The welcome offer is +1500% on your first deposit plus 250 free spins on slots. It fires once, on the first money that lands in a new account — not on the registration, and not on a top-up you make on Thursday because you forgot on Monday. That is the whole reason the size of the first deposit deserves ten minutes of thought rather than a thumb-tap. Two other things sit in a Cambodian account and get asked about less often than they should. The referral promotion is dollar-denominated and runs on the code KHLOVEBK8 for 8 US dollars on deposit. Instant rebate is switched on in our platform, and we are deliberately not printing a percentage for it here — the rates quoted under our name on affiliate pages are not ours to confirm. Claim the offer and the spins are waiting in the slots lobby; the turnover line is printed on the offer card, and it is worth reading before you accept the match rather than after your first decent win.
Games: the numbers we quote and the ones we do not
A Cambodian account sees seven product categories on the leaderboard — Slots, Bingo, Casino, ESportsbook, Sports, Fishing and Lottery — plus a 4D lottery product with published draw results. On the sports side we run our own BK8 Sports book alongside an IBC integration, so the same fixture can carry two sets of markets and two sets of prices. Live tables come from Asia Gaming and SA Gaming. Slots come from Pragmatic Play, PG SOFT, Microgaming, NetEnt, Mega888 and 918Kiss among others. The RTP question deserves a straight answer, because it has two halves: some studios publish the figure and some do not. PG SOFT and Pragmatic Play publish a theoretical RTP for the titles below. JILI publishes none for any of its games, which means the 97% you see attached to JILI slots across the internet came from an affiliate rather than from the studio. We would rather show you the gap than fill it in. The arithmetic behind all of it is on our RTP page.
| Game | Studio | Theoretical RTP |
|---|---|---|
| Mahjong Ways 2 | PG SOFT | 96.95% |
| Mahjong Ways | PG SOFT | 96.92% |
| Fortune Tiger | PG SOFT | 96.81% |
| Lucky Neko | PG SOFT | 96.73% |
| Gates of Olympus | Pragmatic Play | 96.50% |
| Sweet Bonanza | Pragmatic Play | 96.48% |
| Super Ace, Money Coming, Golden Empire | JILI | Not published by the provider |
One caveat belongs here, because players find it out the hard way. Pragmatic Play ships several titles in more than one RTP configuration, and we run BK8-branded reskins of some of them. On our Pragmatic page, BK8 Gates Of Olympus 1000 and BK8 Sugar Rush carry an RTP of 96.5, while BK8 Starlight Princess, BK8 Sweet Blaster, BK8 Gates Of Olympus and BK8 Moonlight Princess 1000 carry 97.6. We print the figure on the tile on our game and provider pages. That tile is the version you are about to spin; a database entry is the version somebody else was running.
Who runs BK8, who tests the games, and how to spot a fake
BK8 is operated by Mettlemind Tech Ltd., registration number 15779, registered at Hamchako, Mutsamudu, on the Autonomous Island of Anjouan in the Union of the Comoros, and licensed by the Government of Anjouan under number ALSI-202504032-FI2. Older BK8 properties carried a Curaçao master licence, and the platform still ships a legacy /curacao.php route left over from that era. The games are audited by BMM Test Labs, GLI and iTech Labs; the footer carries iovation and ThreatMetrix on the fraud side and GamCare and BeGambleAware on the responsible-gambling side. On Cambodian law we would rather be plain than reassuring. The 1996 Law on Suppression of Gambling outlaws unauthorised gambling for Cambodian nationals, online gambling was banned effective 2020, and Cambodia issues no stand-alone online licence at all — an online licence can only exist as part of a land-based casino licence, so no offshore operator anywhere holds a Cambodian one. Ours is Anjouan's, and the licensing page lays out the documents, including the parts of our record that do not flatter us.
