Gates of Olympus at BK8 Cambodia
Gates of Olympus is the Pragmatic Play grid that turned multiplier symbols into a genre. This is what it looks like inside our Cambodian lobby: the RTP printed on our tile, the fifteen-spin round, the 5,000x ceiling, and how a dollar balance funds all of it.
What the game is, under the artwork
Pragmatic Play built Gates of Olympus and put it into wide release on 25 February 2021. Years on, Cambodian players still ask for it under three names — gates of olympus, the olympus slot, or simply the zeus slot — and all three land on the same tile in our lobby. It is a 6x5 grid that pays anywhere on the screen rather than along fixed lines: land 8 to 30 matching symbols anywhere at all and the game pays up to 50x. Pragmatic Play's own social-casino site puts the hit frequency at 28.82%, which is the honest way of saying you will sit through dry spins. Pragmatic Play is a B2B supplier rather than an operator — it builds the game, we run it.
Pays-anywhere is the part that changes how a session reads. There is no line to follow with your eye and no near-miss to argue with; symbols either reach the count or they do not, and the grid clears and refills. Put that 28.82% next to Sweet Bonanza, where Pragmatic's own figure is a 50% hit frequency, and you have the difference between a game that pays something on roughly every other spin and one that makes you wait for a bigger swing. Neither is the better game. They are different evenings, and Olympus is the one that asks for patience.
The running total multiplier is the entire point
Four or more scatters trigger 15 free spins. What happens inside those spins is the reason the game exists: every winning multiplier symbol that lands is added into a running total, and that total is applied to each win for the rest of the round. It runs as a total, not as a per-spin figure. Individual multiplier symbols are worth up to 500x, and they land in the base game as well as during free spins, which is why an otherwise ordinary spin occasionally produces the screenshot somebody sends to the group chat. A quiet opening followed by three multiplier symbols arriving together is a completely different round from the same three trickling in one at a time.
| Title | What triggers the feature | How the multiplier behaves |
|---|---|---|
| Gates of Olympus — Pragmatic Play | 4 or more scatters, 15 spins | Winning multiplier symbols added into a running total, up to 500x each |
| Sweet Bonanza — Pragmatic Play | 4 to 6 scatters, 10 spins plus a scatter pay to 100x | Multipliers of 2x to 100x summed at the end of each tumble sequence |
| Mahjong Ways — PG SOFT | 3 scatters, 12 spins, retriggerable | Fixed ladder: x2, x4, x6, x10 |
| Mahjong Ways 2 — PG SOFT | 3 scatters, 10 spins | Reel-three symbols turn gold and convert to Wilds when they join a win |
| Lucky Neko — PG SOFT | 4 scatters, 10 spins | Each Cat symbol landing raises the multiplier by 2 |
Read that last column and the character of each game falls out of it. A fixed ladder like Mahjong Ways rewards a long round, because the final spins are worth several times the first ones. A tumble-summed multiplier like Sweet Bonanza rewards one enormous cascade. Olympus rewards volume: the more multiplier symbols the fifteen spins deliver, the higher every remaining win is lifted, which is why players describe the round as building rather than pointing at a single lucky spin.
The match applies to your first deposit and the spins land on slots. Balances run in USD — no riel conversion to think about.
Two Olympus tiles in our lobby, and two different RTPs
One detail on our Pragmatic Play page decides everything else here. We sell Pragmatic Play slots under BK8-branded reskins, and there are two Olympus entries rather than one: BK8 Gates Of Olympus carries an RTP of 97.6, while BK8 Gates Of Olympus 1000 carries 96.5. They sit alongside BK8 Starlight Princess at 97.6, BK8 Sweet Blaster at 97.6, BK8 Moonlight Princess 1000 at 97.6 and BK8 Sugar Rush at 96.5. The figure is printed on the tile itself. In the Top Games row it sits next to the provider name and a New or Hot badge; on the grid tiles below it runs with the game name alone. Either way it lives on the game and provider pages rather than on the homepage, so look at it before you press anything — those two Olympus tiles are not the same game running at the same return.
Why any two builds differ at all is a supplier decision rather than ours. Gates of Olympus is shipped in multiple operator-selectable RTP configurations: Pragmatic Play publishes 96.50%, while slot databases report lower versions — 95.51%, plus a third value one of them gives inconsistently as 94.05% and 94.5%. An unqualified 96.50% copied off a review site therefore does not necessarily describe the version anyone is actually playing. That is precisely why the number belongs on the tile instead of in a footnote. Our slot RTP page works the same logic across the rest of the lobby, including the studios that publish no RTP at all.
Ante Bet, the bonus buy and what a spin costs
The stake range runs from 0.2 to 240, and because Cambodian accounts here are denominated in US dollars, that is the range in dollars: twenty cents at the bottom, two hundred and forty at the top, with nothing to convert in your head. Two optional controls sit on top of it. An Ante Bet toggle changes what you pay per spin and what you get in return, and the exact trade-off is set inside the game, so read the in-game paytable rather than a blog post. A bonus buy priced at 100x your stake takes you straight into the 15 free spins without waiting for scatters — at the bottom of the range that is a twenty dollar purchase, and at the top it is emphatically not.
- The bonus buy is 100x your current stake, so it scales with the stake selector — move one and the other moves with it.
- Bought spins are the same spins: 15 of them, the same running total multiplier, the same 5,000x ceiling.
- Ante Bet and the buy are Pragmatic Play features built into the game, not BK8 promotions — they change the cost of a spin, not the terms of a bonus.
- A published RTP is a long-run average across millions of spins. It describes the game, not your next fifteen.
None of this amounts to a strategy. No sequence of stake changes alters a random number generator, and Pragmatic Play's games are RNG tested and certified by Gaming Laboratories International, Quinel and Gaming Associates specifically so that they cannot be steered. What stake sizing does control is how long your money lasts, which on a 28.82% hit frequency is the only variable genuinely in your hands.
A 5,000x ceiling, and what a ceiling is worth
Gates of Olympus advertises a maximum win of 5,000x the bet. Set against the rest of the lobby that is modest: Mahjong Ways 2 and Lucky Neko both advertise 100,000x, Mahjong Ways 25,000x, Sweet Bonanza 21,175x, and Super Ace and Money Coming 10,000x on JILI's own figures, with Fortune Gems the floor at 375x. Before reading that ladder as a ranking, look at what a cap actually predicts. PG SOFT ran a one-billion-spin simulation on Mahjong Ways and recorded a maximum exposure of 2,893x against an advertised cap of 25,000x; on Mahjong Ways 2 the same exercise reached 1,708x against 100,000x. A max win is the roof of the building. It is not the ceiling of the room you are standing in.
Volatility is the other label people quote at each other, and on this game it is genuinely unsettled. Pragmatic Play's own social-casino site labels Gates of Olympus Medium. Slot databases rate it High. We are not going to pick one and print it as settled fact, because the sources disagree and neither is obviously wrong — what both are describing is a game with a thin base return and an enormous feature, which rating systems classify differently. Judge it from the hit frequency and the multiplier design instead. Those two are published, and they tell you more than a one-word label ever will.
Both banks are configured on BK8 for Cambodian accounts, so money moves on rails you already use every day.
Funding a session in dollars, not riel
Your balance here runs in US dollars. That is not a preference, it is how the platform is built: the two internal currency codes for Cambodia, KHUSD and KHEUR, resolve to USD and EUR, the string KHR appears nowhere in the configuration file, and the registration config restricts the Cambodia region to a single currency, USD. Three bank codes are configured for KHUSD deposits — Maybank, ABA Bank and ACLEDA Bank. One constraint is worth knowing before you move money: transfers on the Bakong rail do no currency conversion. The sending currency and the receiving account currency must match, with no in-app FX along the way. Fund from a dollar account and this costs you nothing, and Cambodia was 83.4% dollarised by broad money at the end of 2025, so most readers already hold one.
New accounts take +1500% on the first deposit and 250 free spins. The match, the spins, the stake behind each one and anything they pay all land in the same US dollar balance — there is no riel account type to convert into or out of.
Registration takes a Cambodian number — country code 855 is supported — plus phone and email verification, the two checks required on a Cambodian account. Do both before the deposit rather than after it: the welcome match attaches to the first deposit, and a half-finished account is the most common way that goes sideways. Once the account is ready you can claim the offer and open the game from the Slots tab.
A six-reel grid on a Cambodian phone
Cambodia is still a desktop-majority market — StatCounter put it at 59.05% desktop against 39.98% mobile in August 2026 — and that shows up in how this particular game reads. A 6x5 grid is wide. On a laptop the whole board sits comfortably; on a phone it is scaled down to fit a portrait screen, and the most common Cambodian mobile resolution is 414x896 at 25.55%, with 360x800 second at 14.32%. Symbols get small. Multiplier symbols carrying a two- or three-digit value get smaller still, and during a fifteen-spin round with a total climbing you are reading numbers rather than pictures. Android holds 55.46% of Cambodian mobile against iOS at 44.5%, with Apple the single largest handset vendor at 44.49%, so both builds matter here.
Connection speed is much less of a problem than screen size. The median mobile download in Cambodia is 29.37 Mbps and fixed broadband 45.10 Mbps, comfortably enough for a Pragmatic Play slot — these are HTML5 games streaming assets, not video. The sensible order is to open it in demo mode on the device you actually play on, watch one full feature round, and decide whether you can read the multiplier values at that size before any money is involved. If you cannot, play it on a laptop. That is a real answer, not a hedge.
Where Olympus sits next to everything else we run
Slots is one of nine items in our Cambodian navigation, alongside Sports, E-Sports, Casino, Fishing, Lottery, Fast Games, Promos and VIP, and one of the seven categories our Cambodian leaderboard ranks. Whichever you open, the money is denominated the same way, because the region is configured to one currency. Pragmatic Play is also not the only studio behind those tiles: we name Pragmatic Play, PG Soft, Microgaming, NetEnt, Mega888 and 918Kiss as our slot suppliers, and the PG SOFT titles in the table above come from the second of them.
The supply side is the part of a slot nobody can see from the lobby. Pragmatic Play was established in Gibraltar in 2015, is led by chief executive Julian Jarvis, and is licensed by the Great Britain Gambling Commission under account number 56015 and by the Gibraltar Licensing Authority under RGL No. 107. Its own site says it is certified or licensed in over 30 jurisdictions and supplies content in 33 languages, which is why this exact grid turns up in markets that share nothing else. Our own games are audited by BMM Test Labs, GLI and iTech Labs.
If Olympus is what brought you here, the useful next step is not another article about it. It is fifteen minutes in the slots lobby comparing what is printed on the tiles — the two Olympus builds at 97.6 and 96.5, Sugar Rush at 96.5, the PG SOFT titles with their own published RTP splits — and picking the one whose numbers you genuinely like. We serve Cambodia in five languages — English, Khmer, Simplified Chinese, Indonesian and Vietnamese — so read the lobby in whichever one you think fastest in. Open an account when the game makes sense to you, and not a spin before.
