USDT deposits, in a country that already counts in dollars
Tether is the only route on our Cambodia deposit list that already arrives in the currency your balance runs in. No riel leg, no board rate, no conversion step waiting inside the cashier. Here is which network to send on, what it costs, and what we check before the first payout.
Why a dollar token fits a dollar country
Cambodia counts in dollars — ដុល្លារ — and that is the whole argument for this page. At the end of 2025, 83.4% of the country's broad money was denominated in US dollars. Hotel rooms, airline tickets and anything financially significant are quoted in dollars, with riel handed back as change under the 4,000-to-one retail convention everybody carries in their head. That convention is not the market rate: ACLEDA's board on 10 September 2026 read 4,048 riel buy and 4,062 sell. Riel does the small-change work for a structural reason, too — from June 2020 the National Bank moved to phase $1, $2 and $5 US notes out of domestic circulation, having banks collect them and ship them abroad. It never made those notes invalid; it removed the reason to hand them out.
Our side matches the country rather than fighting it. We run two internal codes for this market, KHUSD and KHEUR, which resolve to US dollars and euros, and our registration configuration restricts the Cambodia region to a single currency — USD. The string KHR appears zero times in our platform configuration. There is no riel account here to open. Tether is a dollar stablecoin, built to hold its value against the dollar rather than float against it, which makes a USDT deposit the one route on our list where the money you send and the balance it lands in are already the same unit. Nothing converts, because there is nothing to convert.
Three networks carry the same token
USDT is not one thing arriving one way. The token is identical; the road underneath it is not. We carry Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT alongside the bank rails, and on our Cambodia payment pages crypto gets the same billing as ABA, ACLEDA, Wing and TrueMoney rather than a line at the bottom. Those pages explain crypto in network terms, which is the right way to explain it: ERC20, TRC20 and BEP20 are three separate chains, each with its own address format, its own confirmation time and its own fee — and that fee belongs to the chain, not to us. The figures quoted across our Cambodia payment pages put TRC20 at roughly three minutes for a network cost of 2–3 USDT, against 5–15 minutes and 8–10 USDT on ERC20. That gap is the reason TRON became the working USDT rail across this region, and why most people reading this will choose it. One rule matters more than the arithmetic: send on the network the cashier generated the address for. An address issued for TRC20 is not an ERC20 address wearing a different hat, and a chain has no customer service desk to appeal to.
| Network | Quoted settlement | Quoted network fee |
|---|---|---|
| USDT on TRC20 (TRON) | About 3 minutes | 2–3 USDT |
| USDT on ERC20 (Ethereum) | 5–15 minutes | 8–10 USDT |
| USDT on BEP20 | Listed as carried | Not published on our pay pages |
The match applies to your first deposit and the spins land on slots. Balances run in USD — no riel conversion to think about.
Sending USDT into your account, step by step
The order matters more than it looks. Take the address when you are ready to send, not in advance — a screenshot from last week is not a place to put money.
- Finish verification before you open the cashier. A Cambodian account needs a mobile number under the 855 country code and an email address, both confirmed.
- Choose your network in the cashier first. TRC20, ERC20 and BEP20 are separate destinations, and the choice you make here decides the address you are given.
- Copy the address the cashier issues, or scan the QR it shows. Never retype it by hand and never reuse an old one.
- Send a small test amount if this is your first time on this rail. At a quoted 2–3 USDT on TRC20, a test is cheap insurance against an expensive mistake.
- Match the network at the sending end. Your wallet or exchange will ask you to pick TRON, Ethereum or BNB Chain — choose the same one the cashier named.
- Decide the amount before you confirm, not after. The welcome match is calculated from the first deposit that lands, and a first deposit only happens once.
- Wait for confirmations instead of refreshing. Then claim the offer — +1500% on that first deposit and 250 free spins on slots.
What it costs next to a bank transfer
Fees are the first thing players here ask about, and the honest answer is that no single institution publishes one comparable set of numbers. The National Bank runs the Bakong rail — 63 official members with seven more integrating — but each member sets its own ceilings on top of it, so your limit is your bank's, not the country's. Crypto is the mirror image: no institution sets the fee at all, the chain does, and it charges everyone the same regardless of who they bank with. One more constraint is worth naming. On the Bakong rails the transfer currency and the account currency have to match — there is no in-app FX on a Bakong transfer. A dollar balance wants dollars, and a dollar stablecoin is dollars. Treat the two USDT rows below as what our Cambodia payment pages quote rather than as a promise: a chain's fee moves with its traffic.
| Route | What it costs | Published limit or timing |
|---|---|---|
| USDT on TRC20 | 2–3 USDT network fee | About 3 minutes |
| USDT on ERC20 | 8–10 USDT network fee | 5–15 minutes |
| ABA out to other Bakong member banks | — | 60,000 USD per transaction and per day |
| Out of an ACLEDA Bakong account | Free | 2,500 USD a transfer, 10,000 USD a day |
| ABA into a Bakong wallet | Free to 50 USD, then 0.50–1.00 by band | 1,000 USD a transfer, 2,500 USD a day |
| Bakong wallet balance | — | 2,500 USD ceiling |
| Wing agent cash-out | Free, no minimum | From 2,000 riel to millions |
| Cash from an ATM | Roughly 4–10 USD per withdrawal | 500 USD per transaction |
Read the bottom row twice if you normally solve this problem with cash. Cambodian ATM operator fees run roughly 4 to 10 US dollars a withdrawal — Vattanac at the low end, ABA commonly cited at 6 to 10 — with a standard 500 dollar per-transaction limit at ABA, ACLEDA, Canadia and CPBank, and machines that hand you fifties and hundreds whether you wanted them or not. Measured against that, a TRC20 transfer is the cheap instrument, not the exotic one. If you would rather stay on the domestic rails there is no penalty for it: ABA Pay debits straight from your account with no top-up step, and KHQR is the one national code that any participating bank or wallet can pay.
Where crypto stands with the National Bank
Cambodia stopped treating cryptoassets as a blanket prohibition on 26 December 2024, when the National Bank issued Prakas B7-024-735 Prokor on Transactions Related to Cryptoassets and replaced the ban with a permission-based regime. The Prakas sorts cryptoassets into three buckets: Group 1a for tokenised securities, Group 1b for stablecoins — which is where USDT sits — and Group 2 for everything else, particularly unbacked cryptoassets. Commercial banks may hold Group 1 for their own account but not Group 2, with exposure capped at 5% of Common Equity Tier 1 capital for Group 1a and 3% for Group 1b, and any legal entity providing cryptoasset services needs an NBC licence.
The Prakas governs banks and licensed cryptoasset service providers operating inside Cambodia. It does not convert an offshore operator into a domestically licensed one, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Our licence is issued by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan under number ALSI-202504032-FI2, and the operating company is Mettlemind Tech Ltd., registration number 15779, registered at Hamchako, Mutsamudu, Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros. Our review page sets out the rest of the paperwork.
Both banks are configured on BK8 for Cambodian accounts, so money moves on rails you already use every day.
What we verify, and why the list is short
Stablecoin flows in this region attract scrutiny, and the sensible answer to that is verification that is real without being theatrical. A Cambodian account with us needs two things confirmed and only two: a mobile number under the 855 country code and an email address. Birthdate and bank verification are switched off for this market — they run on other currencies, not on KHUSD. Sumsub identity checks are enabled on nine of our ten supported currencies, both Cambodian codes among them, so expect a document step when the amounts justify one rather than on the first ten dollars you move.
- Send from a wallet in your own name. Third-party deposits are the usual reason a crypto payout sits in review.
- Our games are audited by BMM Test Labs, GLI and iTech Labs, with TST certification alongside them.
- Fraud screening runs through iovation and ThreatMetrix; GamCare and BeGambleAware sit in the same footer.
- The interface is available in five languages for Cambodia — English, Khmer, Simplified Chinese, Indonesian and Vietnamese — with Khmer as the regional default.
- Keep the transaction hash for any deposit you send — it is the only thing that identifies a transfer on a public chain.
What the first deposit turns into
The welcome offer on a first deposit is +1500% and 250 free spins on slots, which is the main reason to size that first transfer deliberately instead of sending ten dollars to check whether the address works. Our promotions page filters by product across eleven tabs and Crypto is one of them, sitting beside New member, Sports, Esport, Casino, Slots, Fishing, 3d games, Vip, Special and Lottery. Once the funds land they move across the seven product categories on the Cambodian leaderboard: Slots, Bingo, Casino, ESportsbook, Sports, Fishing and Lottery. On the slot side that means Pragmatic Play, PG Soft, Microgaming, NetEnt, Mega888 and 918Kiss. A Cambodia referral promotion also runs on the code KHLOVEBK8, worth USD 8 on deposit, if you are bringing someone with you. The welcome offer is broken down here, turnover included, so you know what the number is attached to before you accept it.
Getting it back out, and the other doors in
A withdrawal is the same road run backwards: dollars leave a dollar balance to an address you supply, on a network you name, and the chain charges what the chain charges. Our withdrawals page covers what we ask for before the first payout clears. And if crypto is not your instrument today, the domestic rails all open onto the same cashier — TrueMoney alone runs 10,000 agents who will cash in or out for accounts at more than 60 Bakong member institutions off a single KHQR scan.
One piece of housekeeping outranks every fee table above. A USDT transfer is fast, final and unusually easy to repeat — three qualities that deserve a limit attached to them. Set a deposit cap and a session length while the account is still empty; it takes five minutes now and is a much harder conversation later. Those tools are ours, not a badge borrowed from somewhere else. When the address is in front of you, open the cashier, send on the network it names, and wait for the confirmations rather than the refresh button.
